Meet Mrs. Haas
I am very excited to be your child's teacher this year! I already know how much I like these kids because I've known most of them since kindergarten.
I live outside of Fayetteville on a small farm with my husband Dennis and 2 children. My kids are a 7th grader, Megan, and a 4th grader named Adam. Besides being a mom, my favorite things to do are to play cards, golf, go camping, and ride bikes. I am so happy to have children so I can keep doing fun things that kids like to do like water parks, mini-golf and other cool, fun things!
Besides being a small time farmer, Mr. Haas is a pilot for Delta Airlines. We get to fly for free (when the plane is not already too full!) and that allows us to go to some pretty neat places. The Haas family enjoys a good road trip, too, so we've traveled to see much of the beautiful USA!
Both Megan and Adam are active in sports. I sometimes run into Marissa kids at a baseball or soccer game against our Freeburg teams. Megan and Adam are busy 4-H kids, too. We have rabbits, goats and other small critters that they show at the County Fair. Next year we might have a cow or two also! If you know anything about these kinds of farm animals - Let me know!
We have hosted several exchange students in the last several years. We have welcomed 3 Italian teens and a girl from Finland. This summer a 12-yr old girl from Japan stayed with us for a month. It was fun to learn about kimonos and sushi from her and we shared our favorite American experiences with her. Now we are taking a break from family extras until next fall.
I love teaching at Marissa Elementary! The students, the other teachers, and Moms and Dads who support the school and teachers make this a great place to be.
Looking forward to a great year! Mrs. Haas
